Add a field on the TQL Properties page

0 Votes

Add a field on the TQL properties page to hold the created by userid of the developer.  If Micro Focus delivered, then user a default OOTB value.  If it is a user-created TQL, then capture the logged in user's name in the field.  The field would need to be captured on the underlying XML so it is included when packaged and deployed in other environments. The purpose of this would be to enable system administrators to train and coach developers in writing efficient and effective TQLs. At present, there is nothing in the TQL properties that indicates who wrote the TQL.

In fact this information is recorded already in the URM. You can obtain it thorugh the interface from Custom Reports -> Administration -> Auditing Report.

You are correct, it does, but that means I have to run a report, rather than simply click the Properties icon and see who wrote it when I'm doing triage on a problematic TQL. On the other hand, I didn't realize it was already captured in the URM. In that case, it should be relatively simple to add an attribute to the properties page and populate it with the user name.
