DB2 dsicovery of databases does not show capture database clusters. One will enable when Failover occurs the app will have the Standby Cluster to be able to see it otherwise we will not be know the inactive CI.
It should not connect to those but it needs to have the database kept alive and identified as in standby mode
The command is
db2 get db cfg for $dbname | grep "HADR database role" | cut -d'=' -f2 |cut -d' ' -f2
Then if = STANDBY then ….
One way to identify if it is Client or database or connect gateway is by running the below command.
db2 get dbm cfg | grep "Node type"
For Clients ->
Node type = Client
For Databases ->
Node type = Enterprise Server Edition with local and remote clients
For Db2 Connect Gateway ->
Node type = Database Server with local and remote clients
