Discovered Windows users and groups

Hi,

A good feature would be to automatically discover Windows users whether it's local or AD and their corresponding groups.

The goal is to have the representation like in picture.

Hi

I would like to add

1. the local users should also have a relation ship to the node

2. The Domain users, must be a "domain users" CIT

3. The Domain users must be discovered from Domain controller, adding DN, CN ,SAMID and SID , you would need to reconcile on SID from the node, also adding metadata like email, adress e.g. if present on the account.

4. Groups should be discovered from both Domain and node

5. Domain Groups and Local groups must 2 different CIT

6. For Domain Groups and Users, they must be related to the correct OU (CIT ActiveDirectoryOrganizationalUnit)

7. Proper deletions must be set on Adapter to ensure its properly maintained.

8. I suggest to Extend person and FunctionalGroup, with required attributes, and setting a "Type" e.g. Domain User Domain Group ( similar to "location_type" on location

Thanks

Glen

We did develop a discovery for local groups on both Unix and Windows. We created a CIT named "OS Group" and a subtype of that named "Windows Group", in order to match the CIT for users: "OS User" and "Windows user".

We would be happy to contribute to make this discovery part of a future content pack. You may ask @stx9 about our discovery script for local groups.
