Discovery of tags via 3rd party APIs

Discovery of tags via 3rd party APIs

There are several discovery points such as AWS, VCenter, Infoblox, Puppet, etc. that allow users to specify custom tags or attributes that are exposed via API requests (Rest). It is common practice for organizations to use these tags to store metadata specific and meaningful to their company's application topology relationships.

This capability should provide a standard structure for defining the API request (copy and paste a code snippet out of Postman) and plus rules pattern syntax (JSON) for parsing and assigning name:value pairs to CI attributes making them accessible to other discovery jobs and enrichment rules. The implementation should make it easy for semi-advanced users to adopt, create, share, and modify with other community members. A user friendly Multipurpose API Transformation Adapter.

This is actually one of the topics we are planning now for the next release (tentative of-course). If you [or other customers] can work with us as design partners on this, we will highly appreciate it.

I'd be very happy to work with you on this.  We have existing use cases that we're trying to address.
