Expansion of discoverable SWID tag attributes during inventory discovery

UD Discovery scanner reads a number of mandatory fields in a SWID tag such as product title, product version, software creator, software id.

We have a need to include additional fields, currently only product id. This will help us relate individual products and software by id.

We are referencing the following standard:

This gap creates a manual effort in relating products to software applications. Additional fields are required to accurately inventory and relate products, applications, owners, etc.

Customer would like to have the flexibility to do the following:
-          Flexibility to add customer fields and mapping;
-          At the very least customer needs to add the following fields “product id”.
            Because of customer flow, not having that field currently adds a lot of manual work.
            This additional fields will reduce a lot of manual effort.

With the new ability to add tags to CIs in CMS 2019.05, the customer could add a tag for Product ID that will be supported going forward.  They can assign values to this tag as required, and be confident that no future upgrade will cause issues with compatibility.  Is this an option?
