Pull Node CIs' Primary IP address attribute from NNM by default

Primary IP Address information on Node CIs is not synced from NNM out of the box. Update the NNM Pull integration to include the ManagementAddress attribute by default so customization of the integration is not necessary.

The whole NNM adapter should be rewritten. We did an adapter almost from scratch in my previous project. The current code is really crappy, very buggy, especially if you sinchronize large ammount of data - it takes too much time.

I'm checking with the folks from the NNMI team to determine what is available and how accessible the data is to UCMDB's pull adapter.

Question:  You're using the NNMI Pull adapter which is owned from the UCMDB perspective.  While this works, the recommended manner of getting data from NNMI is to use its UCMDB Push Adapter.  Have you used this, and if not, can you explain why you're using the UCMDB Pull adapter instead?

Hi Bill,

NNMi UCMDB adapter is quite limited and as far as I remember there is no option to customize anything, neither it gives any benefits in terms of differential updates to the newly discovered network devices. The code is compiled in java and cannot be changed without raising enhancement requests..

UCMDB NNMi Pull Adapter is written in python and is relatively easy to add attributes to the mapping. The disadvantages though are that it is a mixture of very old code which is kinda made to work with the new versions of NNMi. The adapter often breaks during synchronization after few hours and you have to redo the sync again, waiting another few hours. It also lacks MPLS SPI integration, which would be beneficial for some customers.

The pull adapter should be retired.  I'd ask that this be cloned in the NOM forum to add it to their PUSH integration from NNMi.

As Keith mentioned, we use the nnmi push is the standard way to integrate nnmi to CMS. This enhancement better go to the nom idea exchange.

The idea should go to the nom idea exchange, as this is the standard way to integrate nnmi to CMS.
