Many customers we do business with have company names longer that 32 characters. This forces us to truncate their name across all tools we use to maintain consistency.

This field is easily extended in the CI Type Manager - is there any reason you would not want to do this yourself?

It is uncomplicated  to make this change on your own.  You could go into the CI Type Manager and extend the field’s length.  You would need to test to confirm no integrations are harmed, though it is unlikely (you would have to do this anyways if the attribute was changed OOTB).

There is no risk of  losing data with this change, as the field is just extended.  Additionally, there is no future impact for content or class model updates from Micro Focus as fields cannot be reduced in size once they have been extended.

The biggest issue that will come up is that if you change it in UCMDB, you will need to evaluate where this attribute is being used in other systems, and make the same change there (or the integration will fail).
