We received customer request to generate UCMDB report containing Unrecognized file information from UCMDB UI. Customer has got many in-house built software which are not getting recognized as they are not part of SAI, nor can be teached at this point of time as customer doesn't have enough info to identify such candidates and there are many other software which even customer are not aware of (as they have been introduced in the environment by numerous acquisitions). Hence as part of ongoing File recognition process, customer wants the OS Admins to look at the unrecognized files info to determine the files corresponding to the in-house built/acquired software, provide such info to UCMDB Admins so that they can teach the applications, thus improving overall SAI recognition process in their environment.
Currently ucmdb admins can view such unrecognized file info via inventory tools like Analysis Workbench, however, OS admins are not the right user for such tool, instead they need a UCMDB report which can be fetched from UCMDB UI.
Also, another drawback of Analysis Workbench export is that: customer needs Host and directory info along with File info as part of the report, but the exports from Analysis Workbench (AW) support extraction from either of the sections (File/Machine/Directory), hence Host/Directory info are not included if UCMDB admin export data from File Window on AW.
UCMDB report to be made available on UCMDB UI so that OS admins can log on UI and fetch the report by themselves. The report must include all file info, including both recognized and unrecognized (identified by a flag) along with corresponding Host and Directory info.
Below are the desired columns for the report:
FILE_SYSTEM_PATH:Filesystem location of the file
CREATION_TIME:file creation date or other time stamp like update/modification time
INSTALLATION_DATE:File installation date
SUPPORTED_OPERATION_SYSTEMS:Supported operating system (multi)
HOST:hostname where the file resides
Application Name:(for recognized files)
Application Release:(for recognized files)
Application Version:(for recognized files)
RECOGNIZATION_FLAG: recognized or unrecognized
