Can the "Attachment" CI Type be used to link an Excel or JPG to a CI?

Can the "Attachment" CI Type be used to link an Excel or JPG document to a CI? We are looking to link Vizio Diagrams (JPG, PDF, etc.) to applications and Business Recovery Plans (Excel) to Processes.  Wondering if this can be accomplished as the Attachment CI Type states explicitely states TXT and BIN types.

Re: Can the "Attachment" CI Type be used to link an Excel or JPG to a CI?

Hello Michael,

there was in the past the discussion to have aattributes which actually contain an attachment.
Partially we do have such a functionality on the CIT configuration_document
confDoc.PNG

The attachment_content attribute of CIT Attachment is also type byte and follows the same rules. I don't think you can link them to anothe CI. Even more you can't consume such content in UCMDB.

Kind regards,

Thanks for confirming Bogdan, I will open another thread in the CMS Idea Exchange to try to implement as an enhancement.
