UCMDB Probe and Sitescope can be on the same server?

Jump to solution

Hi,

I need to install an additional probe (integrations) but at this moment it is only possible to do it in the server of sitescope since this is the one that complies with the architecture features.
What problems can this bring me?
Can they live together?

Thanks in advance

I would definitely not try it for months. Both the systems can be processor and memory intensive and combining them can lead to a lot of performance issues. Virtual servers are quite cheap nowadays. If you have paid ten of thousands dollars for licenses of both Sitescope and UCMDB, there is no reason to save few bucks in expense of lost time for debugging of strange issues.

Hi,

definitely it's not the recommended way to do things. Both the applications can use a lot of memory and if the memory is not available you will end up with strange failures.

From technical perspective, the port usage of Sitescope doesn't interfere with the port usage of DFP. So both of them should be able to coexist.

Cheers,

HI Petko,

If you could have a good amount of memory, you could try your behavior a couple of months or it's definitely something you should not try. Thanks.
