Automatically generating custom tools in Caliber (All Windows versions)

Automatically generating custom tools in Caliber (All Windows versions)

Problem:

Automatically generating custom tools in Caliber (All Windows versions)

Resolution:

Problem Description:

Custom tools can be created manually in Caliber (via tools -> options -> custom tools) But occasionally there is a need to generate these custom tools automatically on a given pc.

Resolution:

The recommmended way to do this is to have a script create an entry in the windows registry for Caliber custom tools. A tool such as Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 could be used to create the necessary registry entries needed for the custom tools accessed via the CaliberRM interface.

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Borland\CaliberRM\Custom Tools\1]

"Name"="test"
"Command"="C:\\WINDOWS\\notepad.exe"
"Parameters"="c:\\test.doc"
"Directory"="C:\\"
"Prompt For Arguments"=dword:00000000
"Icon File"="C:\\WINDOWS\\notepad.exe"
"Icon Index"=dword:00000000
