Caliber 11.4.16 SSL | Enabling Mutual Certificate Authentication for Caliber Server

This is controlled by the Caliber Data Server applet in the control panel. There are 2 Secure connection options

  1. Server Only
This option only requires the server certificate to be available on the Caliber Author side
  2. Client and Server (Mutual Certificate Authentication )
This requires both the Client and Server certificates to be available on the Caliber Author side

By checking either these boxes the orb.properties file is modified. This controls the SSL configuration. The file is located in the following folder “C:\Borland\CaliberRMServer\Bin”

Open the file using notepad and check the following lines are correct for your system

  1. vbroker.security.wallet.type=Directory:C:\Borland\CaliberRMServer\bin\certificates
This is the location of the server certificate and key e.g. Cert0, key
  2. vbroker.security.wallet.identity=CaliberRM SSL
This is the location of the Wallet. BY default this is in the following location “C:\Borland\CaliberRMServer\Bin\certificates\CaliberRM SSL”
  3. vbroker.security.wallet.password=MyPassword1
    The password for the Wallet
  4. vbroker.security.trustpointsRepository=Directory:C:\ProgramData\trustpoints
The server cerificate requires to be copied to this location.
