Caliber will not accept connections. Error VA_VAT_NOT_FOUND appears in Server Log

Problem:

Caliber will not accept connections. Error VA_VAT_NOT_FOUND appears in Server Log

Resolution:

Problem Description: Caliber will not accept connections

Product: CaliberRM
Versions: 5

When you create a new Caliber database and the server appears to start. It will not allow you to connect.

On looking in the server log, you would see the following error message:
2004-07-22 13:17:17 1704 9 VersantException:
Source = PError;
Request = ...;
Response = E6603:
VA_VAT_NOT_FOUND:
VAT is not defined ("om/va/vaapi.c", line 421);
File =

Resolution:This problem can occur if you use the profile.be file that is created when you create a database with makedb -g.
An example of when you may need to call this command is prior to restoring a backup.
In this situation you should always make a file backup of the profile.be from a working Caliber database.
This contains extra options compared to the one created automatically by makedb.
