Can requirements be deleted based on the last modified date?

Can requirements be deleted based on the last modified date?

Problem:

Can requirements be deleted based on the last modified date?

Resolution:

  • Product Name: CaliberRM
  • Product Version: N/A
  • Product Component: SDK
  • Platform/OS Version: All

This can be achieved using the SDK. Please make and test a backup of the database before running this code, as once requirements are deleted, they cannot be reinstated. It is also recommended to run this code on a test server with a restored database when no other users are logged on.

The attached sample code shows how to delete requirements based on their last modified date. The SDK code is written in VBA.

  1. Open the attached word document
  2. Ensure that TOOLS | REFERENCES references the CaliberRM library

    C:\Program Files\Borland\CaliberRM SDK 2006\lib\CaliberRMSDK90.dll

this path will differ depending on the version of CaliberRM SDK you have installed is selected
  3. When the form appears, select a project and the requirement type of the requirement(s) you want to delete
  4. Input a date into the last modified text box. Any requirement with a last modified date of less than or equal to this date will be deleted
  5. Press the "DELETE" button

Please note that if the CaliberRM Server is on a different machine from the machine you are running this code on or if the Admin password is different to "admin", you will need to amend the code to point to the CaliberRM Server and specify correct login credentials.
