How can I resolve an Overlapped I/O operation is in progress error message?

Resolution:

If you receive a "Overlapped I/O operation is in progress" error message when attempting to start or stop the CaliberRM database, there may be something else attempting to use the database files. This is very dangerous. The database is managed by Versant software. Any attempt to backup or restore active database files is likely to result in database corruption.

Check to see if you have any backup tools running that may be monitoring or backing up the physical database files. If you are running any type of file system back software, it is best to exclude your the database directory (C:\Borland\CaliberRMServer\Versant\DB\dbname) from you backup process.

Please note, it is still very important to run backups using the dbmgr tool. This will backup the contents of your database so they can be properly restored without database corruption.
