How can a single project be retrieved using the VB.Net SDK?

How can a single project be retrieved using the VB.Net SDK?

Problem:

How can a single project be retrieved using the VB.Net SDK?

Resolution:

  • Product Name: CaliberRM
  • Product Version: 2008
  • Product Component: SDK
  • Platform/OS Version: All

The sample VB.net code below uses a new techique to obtain a single project object using the SDK. This technique can be employed to prevent Java Heap memory issues when retrieving projects from large CaliberRM databases.

The new SDK has a new method called "AllProjectIDs", this method returns an array of CaliberRM Project IDs which then can be used to obtain a single project object using the new method "getProject".

Sample VB.net Code

Dim allprojids(1) As CaliberRM.ProjectID
Dim no_projects, p As Integer
Dim objCalProject As Project

Dim csf As New CaliberServerFactory
Dim cs As CaliberServer = csf.Create("localhost")
Dim calSess As Session = cs.login("admin", "admin")

no_projects = objCalSess.AllProjectIDs .Count - 1

For p = 0 To no_projects

allprojids(0) = objCalSess.AllProjectIDs .Item(p)

objCalProject = objCalSess.getProject(allprojids(0))

Debug.Print(objCalProject.Name)
