How can the original Document Factory be invoked in CaliberRM 2008?

How can the original Document Factory be invoked in CaliberRM 2008?

Problem:

How can the original Document Factory be invoked in CaliberRM 2008?

Resolution:

  • Product name: CaliberRM
  • Product version: 2008
  • Product component: Win32 client
  • Platform/OS version: XP

The original Document Factory is still included in CaliberRM 2008, and for any version of Word before version 2003 the default will be to use the original Document Factory. For Word 2003 or 2007 you may choose the new or old Document Factory version, although the new version will be the default.

If you would like to invoke the orginial Document Factory, you need to add the following registry key:

  1. Open the registry using REGEDIT
  2. Add the following registry key

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Borland\CaliberRM\Launching DocFactory
  3. Under this key, create a new string entry named "Executable Name"
  4. Set the string value to "DocFactory.exe"
  5. Save the registry

If you would like to return to using the new Document Factory, change the string entry to "DocFactory2.exe"

Please be aware that editing the registry can cause unrecoverable damage to your operating system and should therefore only be done with someone with experience of using the registry. We also advise backing up your registry before making any changes.
