How does Borland License Server assign concurrent License

How does Borland License Server assign concurrent License

Problem:

How does Borland License Server assign concurrent License

Resolution:

  • Product Name: CaliberRM
  • Product Version: Any supported Version
  • Product Component: Borland License Server
  • Platform/OS Version: All

Question:

Two concurrent user license certificates were deployed on BLS for CaliberRM server

- certificate A for 5 concurrent users and certificate B for 2 concurrent users.

In CaliberRM framework administrator, users are assigned to different license certificates. Lets say all 5 concurrent users are used up in certificate A and the 6th user who has been assigned certificate A logs in, will he be refused login or will he be automatically given a licence from certificate B ?

Answer:

When multiple concurrent licenses of the same product are hosted in BLS, the license pool will total up the number of licenses for that product. This can be verified by running the command "cmd status" in BLS\bin directory. So in this scenario, the 6th user will be able to login and given a license from cert B, even though he was assigned with cert A.
