Import from Word does not properly import images

Import from Word does not properly import images

Problem:

Import from Word does not properly import images

Resolution:

Problem: CaliberRM does not properly import images from Microsoft Word Documents when using the "Import from Word..." functionality.

Synopsis: Microsoft supports the use of VML (Vector Markup Language) to render images in many of their products. Unfortunately at the time, CaliberRM does not. The setting that controls this behavior is a Microsoft Word Setting. Modifying this setting will allow you to use the Import from Word" functionality without any problems. A Change Request has been filed to address this problem in a future CaliberRM release.

Workaround:

Follow these steps to prepare the Microsoft Word engine to work properly with CaliberRM.

  • Open Microsoft Word
  • Go to the Tools menu and select Options
  • Select the General Tab
  • Click on Web Options button at the bottom.
  • In the "Options" list, un-select the "Rely on VML for displaying graphics in browsers" option
  • Select "Ok"
  • Select "Ok" again.
  • Close Microsoft Word.
