Is it possible to edit the common word list that Borland Search uses?

Is it possible to edit the common word list that Borland Search uses?

Problem:

Is it possible to edit the common word list that Borland Search uses?

Resolution:

  • Product Name: Borland Search
  • Product Version: All
  • Product Component: Search string
  • Platform/OS version: All

It is possible to edit the common word list so that you can automatically exclude custom words from the search string. The list of common words is held in the following file,

C:\Program Files\Borland\Borland Search\apache-tomcat-5.5.23\webapps\bss\config\analyzer\stopwords\en.xml

This is a text file and you can edit this file using Notepad. If you have already extracted and indexed data, you will need to run the extraction again for the changes to take effect.
