Is it possible to restore a deleted user?

Resolution:

  • Product Name: CaliberRM
  • Product Version: 2006
  • Product Component: IVQL
  • Platform/OS Version: All

In order to restore a deleted user in CaliberRM 2006, you need to use a tool called IVQL. This tool is available from Borland Support. Before running the tool, please ensure you have a working, viable backup of your database.

Follow the steps below to restore the deleted users:

  1. Only the account listed as the Database creator will be able to run IVQL
  2. To identify the Database creator account, open a command prompt and run the command dblist
  3. Ensure the Caliber server is running
  4. Extract the IVQL zip file to the root directory of the Caliber Server machine
  5. Open a command line prompt, and browse to the root directory
  6. Type the command IVQL SQMDB (Where SQMDB is the database name).
  7. Type the following command to identify any deleted users:

    select id_number from User_v300_p where account_state=2

  8. At this point there are two options:

    1. To fully restore the users, type the command:

      update User_v300_p set account_state=0 where account_state = 2

    2. To restore and disable the user accounts, type the command:

      update User_v300_p set account_state=1 where account_state = 2

  9. Then to make the changes take effect and exit IVQL, type

    commit
    quit
