Problem:

Is it possible to specify the port number of the Borland process that it used by the FlexLM server?

Resolution:

  • Product Name: CaliberRM
  • Product Version: All
  • Product Component: FlexLM licensing
  • Platform/OS: All

Yes, it is possible to specify the port number that this process uses. To do so, you will need to edit the license.dat file. Please perfom the following steps:

  1. Locate the license.dat file. This should be found in the flexborland_i86_n3 folder which is usually found in the Borland folder.
  2. Open this file using Notepad.
  3. On a new line, enter the following:

    VENDOR Borland PORT=XXXX

  • Restart the FlexLM license server application.

The process will now be using the port you have specified.
