Setting up CaliberRM email notifications

Setting up CaliberRM email notifications

Problem:

Setting up CaliberRM email notifications

Resolution:

Setting up e-mail notifications

This set-up requires that your organization uses a Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) service.

In Framework Administrator, select:

File/Admin/Notifications

Place a checkmark Enable check box.

Host: The name of your company?s mail server

Port: 25 (default) you may have to check with your mail administrator

Sender Address: Any valid email address. Some of our customers set up an address like caliber@xyzcompany.com. This email address is displayed in the "From" field on all automatic emails sent and any replies to the automatic emails. Or you could put your email address in, and then you would receive the replies.

NOTE: Some of our Customers do not set Notification parameters (steps below) until the project has been set up completely so that Users are not flooded with a ton of emails during the initial stages of the project. Of course, this is your option.

Notification Parameters:

Start by going to View/Users, highlight the User, and select the User Info tab. Fill in the user?s e-mail address. Select the Group Member tab and verify the group the user is assigned to is added to the Member of column. SAVE

Next go to View/Groups, highlight the Group, select the Members tab and verify the user is added to the Members column. SAVE

Then go to View/Projects, highlight the Project, select the Group Assignment tab and verify the group the user is in is checked. Highlight the user"s group, click on the Advanced button and then click on the Notifications button. Select which requirement changes you would like to be notified of. SAVE

From Caliber, go to the Project, double click on a requirement type, select a requirement and click on the Responsibilities tab. Select Group/Member or Member/Group and place a check mark in the box next to the user to be notified of any changes made to that requirement. This will have to be done for each requirement, along with each Child of that requirement. SAVE
