Suggested CaliberRM 2008 Versant Database Parameter Change

Suggested CaliberRM 2008 Versant Database Parameter Change

Problem:

Suggested CaliberRM 2008 Versant Database Parameter Change

Resolution:

CaliberRM 2008 installs version 7.0.1.3 of the Versant Object Database. During the installation/upgrade the auto_addvol parameter is incorrectly set. This parameter needs to be changed to prevent improperly sized database files from being placed in the incorrect location.

This parameter is found in the profile.be file which can be found , by default, in the C:\Borland\CaliberRMServer\Versant\DB\SQMDBdirectory. If you have installed CaliberRM on a different drive and/or used a different database name, you will need to locate your profile.be file.

During the installation or upgrade of the database, the parameter in the profile.be is set to:

auto_addvol system_versant_db 2M C:\Borland\CaliberRMServer\Versant\DB

To prevent the database from automatically adding improperly sized or misplaced datafiles, this entry should be changed to:

auto_addvol system_versant_db 2047M C:\Borland\CaliberRMServer\Versant\DB\

Where is the name of your Versant/CaliberRM database.

To modify this parameter:

  • Locate your profile.be file
  • Use any text editor (notepad, textpad, etc...) to edit the file.
  • Correct the size and path portion of the auto_addvol parameter.
  • Save the changes.
  • Reboot your CaliberRM Server

Note: You do not need to be logged into the CaliberRM Server as the database owner to perform these instructions. You need to have read/write access to the profile.be file and be able to reboot the server upon completion.
