Unable to get unauthenticated email configuration working

I'm unable to get unauthenticated email configuration working in the Optimal Trace Administrator.
The Email Settings tab caters for several different smtp mail setups – unauthenticated, plain authentication and secure authentication. Unauthenticated means that there is no username/password check performed by the smtp server. But we still need a “username” value as this is used as the smtp “From:” value. It is important that you do not specify a password i.e. the password field should be blank.
