Upgrade to Caliber 11 is failing with the error SM_LOG_NOT_EMPTY

Upgrade to Caliber 11 is failing with the error SM_LOG_NOT_EMPTY

Problem:

When performing an upgrade by moving the database directory from a CaliberRM 2008 SP1/10.1 install to a Caliber 11 install and running the dbmgr –upgrade it may fail with the Versant error ‘SM_LOG_NOT_EMPTY’

Resolution:

This can occur if the Windows user that stopped the database services on the machine that has the old 2008 SP1/10.1 database was not the database owner.

To prevent this from happening, log into the CaliberRM 2008 SP1/10.1 server and run the command ‘dblist’ the creator will be the Windows account that created the database. You will need to login as this user and stop all services before moving the database to the Caliber 11 installation.
