Utility to determine the total number of traces in database

Utility to determine the total number of traces in database

Problem:

Utility to determine the total number of traces in database

Resolution:

  • Product Name: CaliberRM
  • Product Version: 2005
  • Product Component: Datamart
  • Platform/OS Version: Windows

Description:

1. Is there any way to determine if all the traces in a given Caliber project are getting into the datamart extract?

2. Also, is there a way to get the "Count" of Trace Ids out of the Caliber application database?

Answer/Solution:

1. No easy way unless it is manually checked for each one.

2. db2tty Versant utility can be used to get the count of Trace_Ids.

From a dos prompt run:

C:>db2tty -D sqmdb >> test.out

And in the test.out file look for something similar to this:

====== CLASS `Trace_p" ====== [08f6e15e]
superclasses:
`PVirtual"
attributes:
*
Trace_p::id_number : o_4b (Unique Hash Indexed)
Trace_p::name : char[]
Trace_p::description : char[]
Trace_p::from_object : o_4b
Trace_p::from_object_type : o_4b
Trace_p::from_object_changed : o_u1b
Trace_p::from_object_project : o_4b
Trace_p::to_object : o_4b
Trace_p::to_object_type : o_4b
Trace_p::to_object_changed : o_u1b
Trace_p::to_object_project : o_4b
Trace_p::suspect : o_u1b
Trace_p::type : char
Trace_p::from_object_deleted : o_u1b
Trace_p::to_object_deleted : o_u1b
Trace_p::o_ts_timestamp : o_4b
****** Total 43806 instances of class "Trace_p" ******

The above result shows that 43806 traces were determined.

43806 would be the total trace count found in database.
