Problem:

What causes the error, "Failed to commit" when synchronising CaliberRM DefineIT and CaliberRM?

Resolution:


  • Product Name: CaliberRM DefineIT
  • Product Version: 2008 SP1
  • Product Component: Synchronisation
  • Platform/OS Version: All

When sychronising between CaliberRM DefineIT and CaliberRM the following error may be reported.

This can be caused by erroneous HTML in the detail of the CaliberRM DefineIT Object. Normally this is as a result of pasting the detail from MS Word and the HTML MS Word tags cause the problem. The error points to the erroneous CaliberRM DefineIT Object.

To resolve the problem follow this procedure

  1. Copy the CaliberRM DefineIT Object detail to MS Word
  2. Save the MS Word document as a filtered HTML document.
  3. Open the HTML document using MS Word.
  4. Copy the content in MS Word and paste it in DefineIT.
  5. Resynchronise with CaliberRM
