What causes the error, "Project already exists", when exporting a DefineIT project to Together?

What causes the error, "Project already exists", when exporting a DefineIT project to Together?

Problem:

What causes the error, "Project already exists", when exporting a DefineIT project to Together?

Resolution:

  • Product Name: DefineIT
  • Product Version: All
  • Product Component: Export
  • Platform/OS Version: All

If a project has previously been exported from DefineIT, the export remembers the Together project name that was used. So when exporting the DefineIT project again with the same name, even if using another location, the export reports the error: “Project already exists” and the "Finish" button is not enabled.

In order to resolve this, search the DefineIT workspace for a ".project" file with a name matching your Together project. The best way to do this is to use the built in Windows Search feature and specify the DefineIT workspace as the search location.

Deleting the ".project" file allows the project name to be re-used for export.
