What causes the error, "Unable to load JavaVM specified in C:\Program Files\Borland\CaliberRM SDK 2008\lib\CaliberRMSDK100.ini"?

Problem:

What causes the error, "Unable to load JavaVM specified in C:\Program Files\Borland\CaliberRM SDK 2008\lib\CaliberRMSDK100.ini"?

Resolution:

  • Product Name: CaliberRM
  • Product Version: 2008
  • Product Component: SDK
  • Platform/OS Version: All

This is caused by the CaliberRMSDK100.ini or the Java.ini not being configurated correctly. The CaliberRMSDK100.ini can be found in this location

C:\Program Files\Borland\CaliberRM SDK 2008\lib

The java.ini can be found in this location

C:\Program Files\Borland\Java

The CaliberRMSDK100.ini refers to the JVM to be used by the SDK i.e. Name=Sun1.6.0_02.

The java.ini lists the available JVM available i.e. [Sun1.6.0_02]

The CaliberRMSDK100.ini value has to have a matching value in the Java.ini file.

[Sun1.6.0_02]
folder=Sun1.6.0_02
vendor=Sun Microsystems
version=1.6.0_02
exe=bin\javaw.exe
dll=bin\client\jvm.dll

Also the matching value requires the DLL path.
