Problem:

What causes the error, "Windows cannot find "<file location>". Make sure you typed the name correctly, and try again"?

Resolution:


  • Product Name: CaliberRM
  • Product Version: 2008 GA
  • Product Component: Traceability
  • Platform/OS Version: Windows XP, Windows 2000/2003 Server


This problem is specific to the CaliberRM 2008 GA release. It occurs when when trying to access a file that was traced to in the CaliberRM client. When you try to trace to an external file, the error is thrown as per the screenshot below.

The resolution is to upgrade to CaliberRM 2008 WW or to the latest release 2008 Service Pack (at time of writing this is SP1).
