When installing a 2008 Patch, why do I get the error: "This patch could only be applied on CaliberRM 2008 WW Release, please confirm your CaliberRM WebClient version before you install this patch."?

Problem:

When installing a 2008 Patch, why do I get the error: "This patch could only be applied on CaliberRM 2008 WW Release, please confirm your CaliberRM WebClient version before you install this patch."?

Resolution:


  • Product Name: CaliberRM
  • Product Version: 2008
  • Product Component: Patch


This error may indicate that there may be registry references to an older, incompatible version of CaliberRM on the machine. The reference needs to be removed before the patch will install.

In order to remove the registry reference from the machine registry, please do the following,

  1. Run REGEDIT
  2. Backup the registry by selecting FILE | EXPORT
  3. Delete the following Registry branches

    HKEY_Local_Machine\Software\Borland\CaliberRM\9.0\
    HKEY_Current_User\Software\Borland\CaliberRM\9.0\

  4. Restart the Caliber client machine.
  5. Run the patch installer again.
