When running a Datamart extract to SQL, why am I getting the error: You do not have permission to use the bulk load statement.?

Problem:

When running a Datamart extract to SQL, why am I getting the error: You do not have permission to use the bulk load statement.?

Resolution:

When running a Datamart extract to an MS SQL Server database, the CaliberRM user that extracts the data must have an identical userid in SQL Server with the following assigned roles:

  • public role
  • db_owner role
  • bulkadmin roles

During the extraction, if the user is gets the error message, "You do not have permission to use the bulk load statement", then more than likely they have not been assigned to the bulkadmin role, which is associated with bulk operations. You can confirm whether or not the user has been assigned the bulkadmin role by using the following steps:

1) Check Server Role Permissions for the login you are using.

2) Connect to the SQL server/ instance using an administrator account.

3) Expand the SQL server instance you are connecting to

4) Expand security

5) Expand logins

6) Highlight login that needs to be changed

7) Right-click on properties

8) In the pane select server properties. You should see all server roles associated with this instance

9) Confirm that the BULKADMIN role has been selected.
