When trying to run the IVQL tool it fails with the following error: LINE ** (0) Error: SQMDB not found, inaccessible, or unstartable. (The database name shown may differ depending on whether you called it SQMDB or not).

This error can be thrown for a number of reasons, the most common solutions are listed below:

1. Make sure that you have entered the correct database name when running the IVQL tool. The default name will be SQMDB but this can vary depending on how CaliberRM was installed or how the Versant database backend has been managed. To find the database name run dblist from command prompt, the DB name will be listed.

2. Make sure that you are logged in as the database owner when trying to run the tool. Only the owner can access or make changes to the database. To find the owner, again run the command dblist, the creator will be the owner.

3. If both of the above are OK then try adding localhost to the end of the database name so the command would look something like follows:

C:\>ivql SQMDB@localhost

If none of the above solutions work then please raise a new Support Incident.
