Why are existing traces in a StarTeam project not displayed?

Problem:

Why are existing traces in a StarTeam project not displayed?

Resolution:


  • Product Name: CaliberRM
  • Product Version: All
  • Product Component: StarTeam integration
  • Platform/OS: All


This problem usually occurs when you have moved the StarTeam server. The following error message will also be displayed when you click on the requirements traceability tab:

Error in connecting to Star Team Server
Com.starbase.starteam.SDKRuntimeException: Problem opening connection: "xx.xxx.xx.xx:49202"

To resolve the problem you need to perform the following steps using the CRM_DB tool:

  1. Close the Caliber client
  2. Open a command prompt and navigate to the drive and folder where the tool is installed
  3. Enter the following command:

    CRM_DBTool -w2 SQMDB -nobackup

  4. When prompted for the old string, enter the previous StarTeam server IP address and port number (ie. xx.xxx.xx.xxx:49202)
  5. Enter the new servers IP address and port number
  6. When asked if you would like to commit enter "yes".

You may need to restart the CaliberRM server for the changes to take affect.

If you need a copy of CRM_DB tool, please contact support.

Before using any support tool, please make sure you have a viable backup.
