Why are images not displayed in a Doc Factory report ?

  • Product Name: CaliberRM
  • Product Version: 2005R2SP1 and 2006GA2
  • Product Component: Document Factory
  • Platform/OS Version: All

If there are no images inserted into the Doc Factory Report then it is possible that Doc Factory could not find the Caliber image cache. The image cache that Caliber uses is located in the directory:

C:\Documents and Settings\asmyth\Local Settings\Application Data\Borland\CaliberRM\ImageCache

where asmyth represents your Windows username.

If your Windows username includes a "#" character e.g. AS#1152 then Caliber will not be able to resolve the image cache location, e.g.

C:\Documents and Settings\AS#1152\Local Settings\Application Data\Borland\CaliberRM\ImageCache

and the images will not be include in the Doc factory report. There may be other characters that cause similar behaviour.

It is not possible to change the location of the Caliber image cache, so the only work arounds are

  • Use an alternative username which does not include the "#" character
  • Change your existing username to exclude the "#" character
