Problem:

Why are my DefineIT scenario diagram images not displayed in SilkCentral Test Manager when I host my applications on IIS?

Resolution:

  • Product Name: DefineIT
  • Product Version: 2008
  • Product Component: Integration
  • Platform/OS Version: All

When using SilkCentral Test Manager (SCTM), with DefineIT, there can be problems displaying DefineIT images if SCTM is hosted on Information Internet Services Manager (IIS).

The issue originates during the DefineIT synchronisation with SCTM, where the extension applied to all imported images is ".tmp". This extension is not resolved by IIS. To allow such images to be viewed, it is necessary to add the ".tmp" extension to IIS and associate it with a ".jpg" extension.

  1. Open IIS manager console:

CONTROL PANEL | ADMINISTRATIVE TOOLS | INTERNET INFORMATION SERVICES (IIS) MANGER

  2. Right-click the "img" folder in IIS

IIS | COMPUTERNAME | WEB SITES | DEFAULT WEB SITE | SILKROOT | IMG

  3. Click "Properties
  4. Click "HTTP Headers" tab
  5. Click the "MIME Types..." button
  6. Click the "New" button
  7. Add the extension ".tmp" and MIME type ".jpg"
  8. Click "OK"

Re-start the SCTM application in IIS and then refresh the DefineIT project, all images will be visible.
