Why do I see the following error in the Datamart log, "Description: Cannot update. Database or object is read-only."?

Problem:

Why do I see the following error in the Datamart log, "Description: Cannot update. Database or object is read-only."?

Resolution:


  • Product name: CaliberRM
  • Product version: 2006/2008
  • Product component: Datamart
  • Platform/OS version: All


This error is occurring because you do not have write access to theRMMSA database. The database is created in the following folder

\Program Files\Borland\CaliberRM

You must have write access to this folder.
If you don"t have write access to this folder you can change the folder where the RMMSA database is created. To do this go to

  1. CONTROL PANEL | ADMINISTRATIVE TOOLS | DATA SOURCES
  2. Select the SYSTEM DNS Tab
  3. Select the RMMSA database
  4. Click CONFIGURE
  5. Select an alternative folder in which to create the RMMSA database
