Problem:

Why does Doc Factory 2 generate the error, "Ambiguous cell mapping encountered. Possible missing paragraph element"?

Resolution:

  • Product Name: CaliberRM
  • Product Version: 2008/2008 SP1
  • Product Component: Document Factory 2
  • Platform/OS Version: Windows XP, Windows 2000/2003 Server

This error can be thrown when trying to report on Baseline Signatures. Unlike the original Document Factory, Document Factory 2 supports signatures in tables via $BEGIN_SIGN_ROW instead of via $BEGIN_SIGNATURES.

For example, the following syntax in Document Factory 2:

Name
Comment Date

$BEGIN_SIGNATURES

>>,>

>

>

>

$END_SIGNATURES

will cause the error

The syntax for Document Factory 2 should be,

$BEGIN_SIGN_ROW

>

>

>

>

>

>

>

$END_SIGN_ROW
