Why does Document Factory fail with a "Syntax error (missing operator) in query expression" when trying to generate a document?

Resolution:

  • Product Name: CaliberRM
  • Product Version: 2006
  • Product Component: Document Factory
  • Platform/OS Version: Windows XP (SP2)/Windows 2000/2003 Server

A known cause of this error is having a "blank" UDA stored within the CaliberRM database.

Within the CaliberRM client select:

FILE | ADMIN | USER DEFINED ATTRIBUTES...

If an attribute exists without a name, like in the screenshot below, select "Edit..." and give it an appropriate name.

Blank UDA

If the error persists then please contact Borland Support.
