Why does the importing of LDAP users into Caliber fail?

Problem:

Why does the importing of LDAP users into Caliber fail?

Resolution:

  • Product Name: CaliberRM
  • Product Version: 2006
  • Product Component: Users
  • Platform/OS Version: All

The import can fail if there are deleted users in the Caliber database. In order to correct this the deleted user(s) need to be restored

Before carrying out any changes to the database make sure that a viable backup is available.

  1. Download and extract the IVQL.tool to your C: drive. Contact support for the correct version of the tool
  2. Open command prompt and type

    ivql
  3. List all users and their account status, a staus of 2 = deleted

    select id_number, user_id, first_name, last_name, account_state from User_v300_p?
  4. Recover the deleted user run the following command

    update User_v300_p set account_state = 0 where user_id = "users id"
  5. List all user"s to make sure that the change has been made

    select id_number, user_id, first_name, last_name, account_state from User_v300_p
  6. Type the command "commit" to confirm the changes to the database
  7. Type the command "Quit"
  8. Stop and re-start the database

    dbmgr -stop
    dbmgr -start

Open the Caliber Administrator and check to see if the user has been recovered successfully. This should allow you to import the LDAP users successfully.
