Why is the DB Owner not being set correctly during an install?

Resolution:

Problem Description:

Please note installing CaliberRM via terminal services or other remote connection is not supported prior to the CaliberRM 2005.

In the case that installing CaliberRM directly on the server machine is not possible, there is a possible workaround...

Resolution:

The workaround is to run the CaliberRM install and prior to restarting, modify the DBOWNER in the registry to the correct user name you want to be the database owner on the Caliber server machine.

  • Open Regedit
  • Browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Starbase\CaliberRM\
  • On the right hand pane, highlight the value named DatabaseOwner, right click and select Modify
  • Type the desired username that has a valid windows or network login, that has administrative privileges on the machine
