is it possibile to create a Windows shortcut to a specific CaliberRM requirement?

Problem:

is it possibile to create a Windows shortcut to a specific CaliberRM requirement?

Resolution:

  • Product Name: CaliberRM
  • Product Version: 2008
  • Product Component: Win32 client
  • Platform/OS Version: Windows

CaliberRM can natively create ".crm" files that can be used as Windows shortcuts for direct navigation to a specified requirement. To create one perform the following steps:

  1. Open the CaliberRM client.
  2. Reduce the size of the window so you can see the desktop.
  3. Navigate to the desired Requirement.
  4. Click on the requirement and whilst holding the mouse button in, drag the requirement onto the desktop.
  5. There should now be a crm file on the desktop.

When one of these files is double-clicked or executed, Windows will invoke either the CaliberRM Win32 client or the CaliberRM Viewer interface, depending on the Window file associations.

To change the association, perform the following steps.

  1. Locate the crm file.
  2. Right click on the file and choose properties.
  3. On the the General tab you should have the option to change what program the file opens with.
  4. Click on the change button and choose either the CaliberRM Win32 client on the CaliberRM web viewer. If they are not in the list it maybe necessary to browse for the program.
