ZPWD variable not found after Patch Acquire

Hello everyone,

We are having an unexpected error after launching a patch acquisition on a Radia4 environment . Here is the extract from patch-acquire.log :

-----------------------------------------------
20100526 18:52:23 Error: ZPWD VARIABLE NOT FOUND
while executing
"ok [array get z]"
(object "::Transport::nvdpub0" method "::nvdadm::ZADMIN" body line 121)
invoked from within
"ZADMIN GETFUNCS {} {} zadm"
invoked from within
"$rcsc connect"
20100526 18:52:23 Error: ZPWD VARIABLE NOT FOUND
20100526 18:52:23 Error: Error establishing connection with RCS radia://:3464. Check user ID/password and IP address
-----------------------------------------------

The rpm log also shows the same error:
-----------------------------------------------
20100531 15:41:43 Warning: patch: RCS connection test failed: ZPWD VARIABLE NOT FOUND
-----------------------------------------------

So far, we have :
-checked the RCS URL, credentials and password hash in patch.cfg : OK
-tried connecting to the Configuration Server from the Patch Manager web portal settings : NOK
We are positive we are using the proper credentials (rad_mast + password). The test will also fail with RAD_SYS (no password), or different URLs(localhost, IP, FQDN).
-the RCS service is up, running, and listening on the 3464 port

Any advise would be much appreciated.

Thanks by advance,
Damien

Hi Damien,

This behavior is generally resolved by re-entering the RCS password in the Patch Manager admin interface. Could you delete/move your existing acquire log, perform an acquisition and then zip up and post your new patch acquire log along with your acquisition configuration settings?

Thanks.

Hi Daniel, nice seeing you !

As stated, resetting the password in the RMP portal won't work. I tried putting a null password for rad_mast from the System Explorer (old CSDB editor) and it still won't connect with a null password (screenshot attached).

I have performed a new acquisition and attached the resulting logs.

Thanks in advance for your support,
Damien

Never mind, I solved the problem by applying the latest bulk patch for Radia 4, which patches the nvdkit and httpd.tkd components of the RPM.
It now works as expected.

Thanks for your involvement !
