can do a forceful shutdown after pri-defined time period by giving the warning to user

Hi ALL,

can do a forceful shutdown after pri-defined time period by giving the warning to user.

I created a package which will silently install and uninstall a software.

now after uninstallation i want to restart the system.
and we can do that through radskman command by specifying command like
HREBOOT=Y, ASK=Y

But is ther any way to put time period ,so that
after uninstallation immediately it will not ask for reboot... it will ask after specified time period.

Hi,

In the Radskman Command line specify rtimeout value to wait for n number of seconds.

Example: RADSKMAN HREBOOT=Y,ASK=Y,RTIMEOUT=3200

Hi,

if you want to force the HPCA Agent to perform a reboot after the installation, you need to modify REBOOT attribute in your ZSERVICE instance, e.g. ZSERVICE.REBOOT=AD=HA.
Append/prepend AI=.... for reboot requests after installation and AU=... for reboot requests after updates. Check the Application Manager Guide for details.

You don't need to include the parameters HREBOOT=Y or ASK=Y in your RADSKMAN command line, because they are default anyway.
The RADSKMAN parameter RTIMEOUT=... will denote the timeout in seconds before automatic reboot (only if a reboot is requested).

Please know that the "reboot request parameter" ZSERVICE.REBOOT works on application level, while the RADSKMAN parameter RTIMEOUT works on connect level.

This does not exactly match what you ask for, but this is what is built into the product, and works reliably. If you want more, you need to do a lot of custom coding.
