Community ranks - icons and steps
We recently introduced rank icons and basic badges to the community. (details on badges here)
The goal of these two changes was to reinforce members’ activities and actions that make the community more effective over time.
The purpose of the community is to help you find answers to your questions, and the community rank model helps to identify those members who actively contribute, byoffering answers and solutions, move up the rank model.. By adding the rank icons, we want to make it more clear about who’s who and give you an idea about how active they are in the community. The icons next to the more senior member’s names helps to highlight them and their contributions.
It is not just how often you visit the Community, how many posts you have, but the impact those posts have on your peers' success. You can also help a fellow community member move to a higher rank by marking a post with a Kudo, and if the information in the post solves your issue, please consider marking it as an Accepted Solution. Your peers in the community will do the same for you.
a. The community has a distinct set of ranking steps which recognize your strengths in collecting, contributing, or offering advice within the threads on which you participate. It is not unlike climbing a series of ladders, each of which rewards a particular contribution style.
You will begin as a “New Member”, and depending on how often you visit and what you contribute, will move through the following rankings:
- New Member
- Frequent Visitor
- Established Member
- Senior Member
The short phrase that appears with your username in your posts is your rank in the community.
b. Through your contributions to the community and recognition thereof, you will enter the next part of the ladder. The terms and icons below reflect advancing levels of participation:
The short phrase that appears when hovering over your rank icon is your rank in the community.
