No longer seems possible to see all (new) topics for a (top-level) Discussion Board

Change of format (implemented today?) means that it no longer seems possible to see all (new) topics for a (top-level) Discussion Board.

For example, the "Community Home > Printing and Digital Imaging: Enterprise" board ( http://h30499.www3.hp.com/t5/Printing-and-Digital-Imaging/ct-p/itrc-218 ) contains four subsidiary boards.

I used to be able to see all topics in the upper-level board, rather than having to visit each subsidiary board in turn.

The 'Latest Topics' tab shows a few of the latest topics in the (upper-level) board, and there is a 'See All' link - but this provides an index for topics in ALL discussion boards in the forums (i.e."Community Home > All Topics") which is rather unexpected (and totally useless in this context).

And, speaking of lame page layouts, on a typical "All Topics" listing
page, like, say:
http://h30499.www3.hp.com/t5/forums/recentpostspage/category-id/itrc-288/post-type/thread
the stuff in a "SUBJECT" column occupies three or four lines of text,
but in the "AUTHOR" column, the banner ("HP ALLIANCE", or whatever) is
placed side-by-side with the name.  The result is an over-wide "AUTHOR"
column, occupied largely by white space above and below the banner+name.

Interestingly, the "Community Feedback & Suggestions" listing itself:
http://h30499.www3.hp.com/t5/x/bd-p/community-feedback-suggestions
seems to do this (one, minor thing) more reasonably.

Don't worry.  I've learned not to expect an actual answer to
questions like those.

Right. It's working the way it used to work, but that was never the way I liked it.

I'd really like to see stuff ordered by activity, not by original posting, latest to oldest.

And I want just 1 entry per topic, showing original topic creator and create time,

as well as latest reply writer and time.

Is that such an odd request?

[oh, and this time a chrome login worked. I only have failures in this login space with HP Passport, no other site, so for me this is an HP issue, not my cookies or whatever. Of course the other sites don't make me login all the time, so if they had an issue I would only run into it once a decade, not every day]

I think (I hope) that this is the same as my request for "the old ITRC & BSF order of 'latest update date/time', provided that this does not result in multiple entries for multiple responses to the same topic".

... and as regards Chrome: I use this browser most of the time (I occasionaly use IE9), and I haven't had a login problem with HP Passport.

>it seems that you have to visit each of the bottom-level boards in turn in order to see current posts.

I've found that that's just the easiest.  You only look at a board if there are new topics.

Also on the current "Latest Topics" I see relative time rather than my Profile : Preferences > Display Settings > "Date display format" of ISO standard time.

The system logged you out. It does not know it was you so it can not honor your preference.

In the spectrum of security / clearance level, the default date format possibly ranks as the lowest,

but not to HP, they will protect your security, all of it, whether you like it or not. Ooops... different topic

If you are trying to be funny, please add a smiley.  Or was the one at the end distributed to each line?

In general, I know whether I'm logged in or not.  🙂

And the first thing I did was look at my preferences to see if it was reset.

BTW - is there any kind of list of new features, fixes, what's new for this release of board software etc... ?

I noticed it is working much better/faster with mobile devices.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Nothing more than what's on the "Community Redesign" link above:

Another announcement and post about that:

The 'See All' link is still not filtering entries, for the 'Solved Topics', 'Top Kudos Posts' or 'Top Contributors' tabs, to the current board.

Regarding the Quality of said offline testing ( and code )...

Ahhh, but the Community is sure looking good.  Who cares if it actually works or if its users are happy.

I also noticed there is no "View all" at all in the mobile version.

Hope this helps!
