Activating Imaging from Fast USB 3.0 Memory Keys

Hi All,

We image a few hundred wireless laptops within a very short time span. To increase our imaging speed, we would like to make user of the 150MB/s read speed of the faster USB 3.0 keys.

USB 3.0 has been out for quite some time - is there a switch/driver/method to make the ZCM 11 boot use the USB 3.0 port speeds?

Thank you,
HD

Not yet, but I have asked for it for a long time. Please feel free to
go to the link in my signature to request an enhancement.

Do you have this running from a regular USB 2.0 pen?

A LEAD -Module Load Question -Imaging by USB 3.0 Memory Keys

We have found a lead! Can anyone help with directions on how to edit the Zenworks boot to include this?

The following article says we need to load module "xhci-hcd" and it can be loaded by editing the INITRD_MODULES parameter. Does anyone know where to go next?

Look in /srv/tftp z_maint.cfg is for manual imaging z_auto.cfg is for
automatic.

Thanks Anders

Are you saying there is a way to load xhci-hcd through the auto.cfg that acts the same as if it was loaded through the INITRD_MODULES? If yes, does anyone know what the syntax would be?

Well, what I was saying is that you can input any boot parameters this
way, just as you can when doing a manual boot and typing. I have no idea
what the particular command for that driver is though.
