Applying image to a new machine

Hello,

Am I right in assuming that you cannot apply an image to a new machine
across the wire? As I go through the configuration steps for an image
bundle it seems all imaging can only be applied to a discovered device,
which apparently precludes imaging a new machine with a saved image.

In other words, do I have to install the OS and only then apply the
image? Or can I somehow apply an image to an IP address?

Tia,
Ken

Re: Applying image to a new machine

Hi Shaun,

Many thanks. I guess "Read The Getting Sstarted" is no substitute for
RTFM! 😉

That worked great, but the newly imaged machine came up with an IP
address assigned manually, rather than using DHCP as I expected.

Is that just a case of changing "IP Configuration" to "DHCP" rather than
specifying an address range? I thought when I was setting it up this
limited the range to look for unregistered devices, but now it seems
this may apply to the image application itself. (The image was using
DHCP, so I assumed once the image was applied the newly imaged machine
would do the same.)

Cheers,
Ken
