Delete Windows 7 temp files and folders

I would like to create a bundle that when the user logs in it deletes all the files and folders in the
c:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Temp folder

All devices have the same path
It was also suggested that any folders or files that have today's date not be deleted, just to be safe

Anyone done anything like that and could help me with it?

http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/System-Miscellaneous/Clean-Up.shtml
looks like a safe tool that does it.

It's only a few k in size and has a command line switch that says to not
delete stuff from today.

I have not tested extensively, but let me know if it works for
you..............

Re: Delete Windows 7 temp files and folders

Looks OK but not sure about removing folders.
I was thinking of making a bundle at login that would run everyday
and add an action of delete files and set the folder to c:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Temp

Too risky?

Re: Delete Windows 7 temp files and folders

Would not really need to be updated for Windows 7 for what it does.
Last update could have been 1996 and it would still be fine.

It just looks for the %TEMP% directory and clears that out, including
subdirs under %TEMP%.

Deleting all Files in %TEMP% could easily cause running processes to
break if its deleting while another process is placing stuff into %temp%
to use.

It will not break the Agent, but would likely cause random failures for
installs.

Perhaps if you just cleared out %TEMP% rarely, like monthly and ensure
now other software distributions were happening it would help.

But a tool such as the above which does the exact same thing, but
ensures that it does not remove anything created "today" would be much
safer.
